A new partnership with Vibram at the fifth edition of the competition in Liguria region (Italy).
The Balla Coi Cinghiali association and the A.S.D. Runners Loano, with the support Loano city’s Municipality present the fifth edition of Maremontana - Cencin De Francis Memorial, in collaboration with CAI Loano and Find The Cure Non Profit Committee, which will be held on next March 23 and which this year will have both its start and arrival in the town of Loano, famous tourist resort of the Ligurian Riviera (Italy). In addition to the change of the finish line, this fifth edition will also feature a new partnership with Vibram, which has just become 'title sponsor' of the Maremontana . "As Vibram has decided to support our message of sport and solidarity and to join us in promoting the 'Find The Run for the Cure' project, which is raising funds for the construction of a primary school in Msolwa Ujamaa in Tanzania , we are actually happy to have such an important brand at our trailrunning race”, admitted Antonio Ghilino , the creator of Maremontana. "We are pleased to support the Maremontana, an event that for many trailrunners marks the beginning of the season. Vibram Maremontana is definitely a unique race , in such beautiful surroundings perfectly suited to the practice of trailrunning , but also a great feast for lovers of mountain running”, said Jérôme Bernard , Vibram Marketing Manager. Also this year there will be two race tracks for mountain running, a 45 km long track with 2,500m of elevation gain, which will be going in the opposite direction compared to previous years, and a short track (23km, 1,350m D+), however challenging and never monotonous. Both tracks will feature the extreme variety of terrains that characterize the landscape of Liguria region . Within a few kilometers runners will pass from the sandy beaches of Loano to some limestone areas, through Mediterranean plants and forests of chestnuts, over technical trails to be faced with great concentration and able to offer outstanding views and landscapes . Maremontana is not just running in the mountains. For the second year it will also give voice to fans of mountain walking with or without poles . All the participants will have to choose between a 9km and a 16km walk, both at a free speed on roads and paths in the districts of Loano and Pietra Ligure towns.
