Additional Information

Description

Our latest addition to the Furoshiki Collection! Our shearling boots provide added comfort and warmth to the wrapping sole concept, offering a luxurious, snug fit for hanging out around the home or traveling out and about! For the everyday person on the go, this latest innovation lets you escape those big, bulky boots. The synthetic shearling lining provides an added softness and comfort against the leg and these boots feature our trademark Vibram ECOSTEP outsole, as well as a synthetic shearling upper. Hook and Loop closures help to provide the proper fit for anyone!

*Please Note that the sole of this product may feature some speckles.  This is a natural occurence of our EcoStep compound, which is made from recycled materials, and does not affect the sole or its functional performance!

*Please note: The Shearling Boot can be a little more snug due to the nature of the fabrics, and being lined. Sizing up may give your foot more space, especially if you wear your original Furoshiki snug already.

Planning on a nice cozy sock for added warmth? Then size up!

Problems wearing them in snow.

I have been disappointed with this boot. I live in MN where it snows. Every time, I wear these boots through snow ( as little as 3") the velcro straps near the heel "unstick". They cannot be re-velcroed unless all the snow is removed from both the hook and loop. Of course that can't be done until the snow melts off the boot.

Got a hole showing my big toe.

In the middle of the street far away from home and just got to see my big toe, ¡¡¡¡¡there was a hole in my 5 months normal use boots!!!!!

I would buy this again + some

I loved the idea for a minimalist shoe for colder weather! Water resistant though? No. These can't much water at all, even getting too much dew was a problem. But certainly well worth the warmth. And a good alternative when the boss says no open toe. Will definitely be looking for other types for more extreme conditions.

Comfy, but all the complaints are legitimate.

I read the reviews, but still got it. Why? Because it looked comfortable, easy to store, and the price came down to something that was reasonable. I got the large, which said 42-43. I have 5fingers, one is 42 and the other is 43. This one definitely feels smaller or more snug than the 42. But the problem is that it is narrow. Much more than the 5fingers which allow your feet to splay out. One review talked about the heel digging into the back of her foot. If you don't wear socks, then this will be an issue. So far I've been fine while wearing socks, but I can see what she was talking about. Sizing is the main issue. I really agree that a more definite size would have helped rather than the range. The width as well is too narrow, which doesn't really make sense considering vibrams other offerings. However despite this, it's still pretty comfy. Its warm in 20-30 f weather for now. Not sure about ice or traction issues. Have not had any issue with the Velcro either. Seems pretty solid, but we will see how it holds up. My wife's nitpick would be that she hates how it looks, but I rather like it. Overall I like them, but I think it is because of the novelty and warmth. But I can't really recommend until they come out with more sizes and width options. For a show that wraps I thought it would be more formfitting.

LOVE

So happy with first pair out of the box: all day, running, walking, yoga... they aren't pretty, but I am just so pleased that I bought a 2nd pair! Really like new styles available, but stuck with originals so I won't be afraid to beat on them. Thank you, Vibram, for continued great service and terrific products!

Good fit...when they stay on

1

I got these because they provide comfort and a sense of what I'm walking on in the winter that allows me to stay upright. These fit nicely, are warm and comfortable...when they stay on. The problem is they don't stay on...or rather, they don't stay closed. I don't know if it's the type of velcro used or where the tabs are placed but nearly every day my two-mile round trip walk to the office is interrupted with these coming apart without warning. The velcro tabs come loose and, as that's all that holds them together... I may resort to ties, straps, snaps, or something else. As is, my year's use has left me regretting my purchase.

I love these

I have 3 pairs one of them is the brown shearling. I wear them everyday to work and I don't have an issue with them unless I have been on my feet all day. They keep my feet warm and they fit perfectly. I love them!!!

Surprised by bad reviews...

Long time VFF wearer (W39) for knee and wide feet issues, but winter kills my toes. I sat by while others tried these goofy boots, until Dec 2017 sale price was too good to be true. Although ecosole seems a little narrow, i find it a lot more flexible than reported. No biting edge. One issue I foresee is the length of wrapping pieces... they seem a little short which may be why the velcro gives for so many - is it working too hard to hold on? Sad that I bought M... even with thick socks they're too long in the toes (and mine are prehensile!). Someone with new-to-slightly-used smalls want to trade? Seriously...

Toes too tight

1

I have been a firm advocate of 'barefoot' style shoes like Vivobarefoot and my favorite the Vibram Five Fingers and was very excited to learn about the Furoshiki when it came out over a year ago. Once a pair finally went on sale I bought them and had them sent to an American address as I have been living in Europe for work and was not able to have them sent to my address in Germany. Unfortunately that order was made in September and I am about 3 weeks past the 90 day mark as I have returned to visit family for Christmas. I finally got to try them on or tried to get them on my feet as was the case. They would be a perfect fit with the exception that the toes are entirely too tight! Why is that a company who makes 'shoes' like the 5 Fingers and advocates a 'barefoot' experience but then has a product line like the Furushiki which is the exact opposite? This is what it must feel like to wear ballet slippers! I would send them back but for the reason listed above its not possible. To me it seems you just had the idea of the 'wrap' without any consideration for a human's foot. How is that healthy to have your toes squeezed together in such a fashion when wearing these things? That is my only complaint about this shoe! Otherwise I would be wearing these proudly and had hoped that I would be able to bring them back with me when I leave again for work. All that said the quality and fit and finish of the sole and the materials are all top notch and am sad that I upset that I am unable to wear them due tothe discomfort of having to shoehorn my toes into such a tight space. Vibram, smarten up and make a more humane fit for this line of shoe. This would have been my go to winter shoe/boot as I have yet to find a comfortable and warm and not just warm boot for winter.

I just received these and I love them! They're light and comfortable and warm. They've replaced my Ugg's and I couldn't be happier.
