Love them

I where these everywhere. From the gym to downtown. They keep my feet warm in the cold weather of Iowas, Montana, and Oregon.

Loved Them, but...

I bought two sizes to make sure the size was right. And, yes, I needed the larger size. Loved them!!! But then one of the purple loop holes broke and noticed the rest are frayed. Quite disappointed. Was ready to make these my winter walking shoes.

Uncomfortable

2

I been wearing five fingers for a long time I wanted some for winter and when these came out I bought the black and beige both cut into the skin by the little toe. It is hard to get your little toe in and the seam cuts so bad it hurts. I even tried to cut the seam to make it more comfortable but that didn't work either. I don't know if it is the wool or the way it was made, I wish the problem could be fixed since they do keep your feet warm and dry. I ran in them when it was below zero Frost on the ground and my feet stayed warm. I like this color but I'm afraid to buy them and have the same problem that I have with the other two. I have others with the sock build in no problem. Please fix the issue with these.

One of my favorites!

I waited almost TWO YEARS to write this review. I can honestly say they are one of my favorite pair, and I have been wearing Vibrams since 2010 and I currently own 13 pair of various models! (Duplicates of my favorites) When I first ordered my usual size, size 37, they were too small. I also worried about the wool liner rubbing my feet...specifically, my toes. I sent them back and got a size up. The 38's fit perfectly! They rubbed a little at first, but I wash mine...a lot...especially when I first buy them. It helps break them in. Sure enough, they softened up and I wear them Fall - Winter. I run 5 - 15K's in these without a single issue. Well....make sure it's cold enough! I ran a "Crypt Run" 5K last year and it's at night. It was 52 degrees, so I selected this model wear. My feet were on fire they were so warm! I better order another pair or two to keep in my backup stock!

Uncomfortable and don't even fit

2

I've been a wearing Vibram five fingers since 2010 with very few problems. I've been looking for a more weather resistant shoe so I decided to try this one. I bought one size up, as recommended by the website, but I feel like I may have had better luck just getting my size. My last two toes don't even fit into the the shoe and there is a very uncomfortable seam that goes through that area which makes it rather unpleasant to wear. I was looking forward to making this my daily wearer in the colder months, but I can't even get it on half the time and when I do, that seam drives me nuts. I wish I had returned this instead of hoping I could make it work. And unfortunately, like all vibrams, you do feel every single pebble you step on.

Uncomfortable

2

These are uncomfortable in the seams between my fourth and fifth toes. The fit itself is fine so it may have been one of those things where if I'd tried them on in person instead of ordering online, I could have tried just a different shoe and the same size and it would've been better, I don't know. Unfortunately it didn't start to bother me until several minutes in and I'd thought it was something I could've fixed by breaking them in, but that's not happening and they're too uncomfortable to wear.

Purple loop holes for shoelaces will break

1

See the purple loop holes for the shoelaces? They will eventually rip when you're tying your shoes and least expect it. I went through 2 pairs of these shoes in less than 1 year.

LOVE THESE!

I have run 5K's and 10K's in them and I wear them hiking in the cooler weather. I also wear them in the winter months when I compete in dog agility. They were almost "too warm" on a 50 degree evening running in Chicago! When At an agility trial, I have to run my dogs outside in snowy & icey weather quickly before reporting to the line. They keep my feet warm and dry! When they first arrived (and yes, I had to order a size larger) I worried about the thicker lining rubbing my toes. Never was an issue! They wash up beautifully too! Will be ordering another pair...or two!

I've been wearing vibrams for 8 years straight, live in AK and trail run year round, which includes the sub-zero winters in the snow. Last few years I wore the discontinued winter water resistant shoe and wore through them - great shoes though. Bought these to replace and the moment they were laced my feet had never been happier. They say soft on the bottom and they are, which helps greatly with the compact ice - both surface area and feeling it out. They are warm enough I can get by while i'm moving. I sized up as the description says to and with the added winter socks they could not be any more comfortable. I would absolutely recommend and would buy again (seriously hope that these are discontinued as so many great shoes on here are). The only thing that I would suggest to vibram, and do for all the recent shoes that I've purcahsed, is that the rubber on the toes for most models doesn't wrap up anymore and even without toe nails and wearing socks the wear through is enough not to purchase another pair or do some rubber work yourself to modify the shoe - wrap the toes, especially on trail-rated shoes and for runners who put on the miles - i'd like the soles to go before the upper material. Also note that these are NOT water resistant or proof, not too quick to dry, but the wool helps keep warm while out and wet.

good for cold-weather trail running

I got these in a size up as recommended, and they feel roomier than I'm used to with the five fingers, I might pick up a pair of toe socks to wear with them. I will also probably give them some sort of water resistant coating. These are great for cold weather (below 20F), snow covered sidewalks and icy trails, but I haven't used them much this unseasonably warm winter.
