I got these for my brother as his first pair of vibrams, he loves them! He got a size 44 and they fit him perfectly, they don't dig into his feet and the straps are long enough for him. The pair I bought for myself were painful and the straps were too short but we have very different feet. His are long and skinny and mine are short and chubby haha they work great for him not so much for me! My brother likes his a lot and I'm very jealous because they are a really good looking pair of vibrams!

My favorite Five Fingers yet

5

The V-Train's are my 4th pair of Five Fingers and my favorite yet. To address one of the concerns I've seen on the V-Train's, there is more structure to these VFFs than others. However, I have not found that it reduces ground feel or feedback. I do think these needed some additional time to break in due to the structure. The grip on the sole is excellent and well suited for the gym as designed. All in all, I have very happy with these VFFs.

way too stiff, I agree with reviews calling this a nike shoe

1

feels like a foot coffin. no flexibility in toes. what is point of having them separated at this point? I love classics kso evo and kso when they are sized accurately but this shoe is for someone who doesn't want to move their foot in fact wants it locked into a plactic strap with plastic ribs.

Best Pair

5

I have used this shoe for a range of activities. Mainly gym, but i have a good long history with five fingers and they are my "go to" for comfort and fitness. I wish they made an approved combat boot...type.

I never had a problem with Vibram Five Finger shoes

5

Typically, every Vibram five finger shoe is made different, but the V-Train is best for cross-training and HIIT workouts. A lot of people don't understand how to use these shoes as they are solely used for the GYM. Also, I would recommend breaking into the shoes before perform exercising otherwise your calves and toes will pay the price. Overall, I love them!

If I wanted Nike I would buy Nike

1

I am a big fan of the Komodosports, which some genius decided to discontinue and replace with this model. These have very firm heels, limited instep space, stiff soles, and are something like a transition shoe between regular shoes and vibrams. The company has a real issue in discontinuing or "improving" models that don't need a former Nike executive's input. Vibrams don't need the Nike flash, they need barefoot function, and this shoe doesn't deliver this. It's sad. I wear Vibrams more than 50% of the time. I put at least 3 miles on vibrams per day - every day. If this is the direction the company is going, I'm glad I stocked up on the somewhat unreliable but comfortable and dependable komodosports.

Solid Training Shoe... decent running shoe

4

During lifting and HIIT cardio I have zero complaints. The combination lacing and strap system keeps the shoe in place during twisting and turning and I love the secure fit. However, the plastic supports for the lacing on the inside of the foot are thick and have harsh edges. So if I want to run for more than 30-40 minutes, I need to put some moleskin stickers on my foot to keep the abrasion from causing blisters. Once the moleskin is in place I have no problem staying in the run for a solid hour with no discomfort.

Updated review from 2 star in August

5

So, I'm updating my review on this shoe, as something told me I should give it another try. I don't know how to but I wish I could edit my previous review of 2 stars. These are now a perfectly fine fitness shoe, and definitely have some uses for the crossfit workouts that I do. The flexibility of the upper improved almost immediately after I gave them another chance, and I now love these shoes. They are not too rigid, but are quite flexible, though not as much as the EL-X that I said I would get (I did). These are better for rope climbing, and on par for almost any other activity. I love them. I'd give them about 4 stars in truth, but I'm trying to make up for my 2 star rating from August. I'm ready for another pair, so that I have 2 to trade between.

Loved them until I couldn't!

3

I have worn vibram Five finger shoes for the past 6 year. As a physical therapist assistant, completing my CEU's, an instructor reiterated the benefits of natural running and movement patterns along with reading 'natural born hero', last year I changed to working out exclusively in my five finger shoes. Figuring my two previous pairs were getting old, I purchased the V-train and then shortly afterwards the Spyridon MR's for my mud runs. Disappointedly, my V-trains have split between my big and second toe making it impossible to perform lateral movements and movements which require quick change of directions. Highly disappointed! My MR's are beginning to come apart on the medial aspect between the uppers and sole. Even with my current disappointment I am still a fan of vibram five finger shoes. Conceptually, they are a must have for anyone who's serious about their work outs!! I'm hopeful these are just two faulty pairs I received because my older two have held up fairly well. Right now a bit gun shy about purchasing another pair but know I will because when they hold up they are the absolute best shoe on the market!!

Not Cool in the heat

4

I love everything about the V-Train except their heat tolerance. I live in Las Vegas and the shoes are unbearable from June - August due to the upper material, they attract all heat, especially the suns heat. OMG I've never had a heat problem with shoes, yes, some got hot and I worked on the tarmac at the airport, but these shoes are completely unmanageable in direct sunlight. If a newer version were made to wick heat, I would buy multiple pairs.
