When did you first discover FiveFingers?

While living in Miami a few years ago I ran into another brand with similar products. I wasn't completely satisfied so I asked around and everyone said 'Vibram'. After that, I just never wanted sneakers for my weight training workouts anymore. They made me feel wobbly. Hence, I remain a Vibram girl.

Favorite pair and why:

KMD Sport LS. They fit like a glove! I have very sensitive skin and even the softest shoes give me blisters, but these never have. Wherever I go these shoes definitely strike up conversation! It's funny because I'm a grey and black wearing gym rat and then BOOM, my Vibrams are always colorful so they become the icing on the cake! Like an accessory.

What’s your passion:

My passion is educating and inspiring women to take charge over their health, build confidence inside and out via training and nutrition. It makes my day when I get an email or see a post about how my program has changed someone's life. That's all I need to keep it up. Personally, training is therapy for my soul. Without it I go insane. Which will soon be the case because I need surgery on my hamstring that has been giving me trouble for years. It'll be a challenging time for me, but I'm convinced it'll provide me insight and knowledge that I wouldn't have the opportunity to acquire without this big setback.

How have FiveFingers changed your life (if they have!):

They've changed my perception of 'proper footwear'. I wish they came with stiletto too so I could wear them with a little black dress. :-)

What would you like to see in FiveFingers' designs in the future?

Improved sweat wicking. Naturally, training without socks in a pair of shoes will increase sweating, but I manage well with toe socks and sometimes just baby powder. I hope this won't be necessary in the future because the socks make me less 'connected' to the ground. Also, maybe a pair with shock absorption so I can do more high impact training like plyometrics, jump rope etc. I have very delicat feet that complain a lot...

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

The fact I made it to America from Sweden on my own and turned citizen in 2013. That was my life goal.

What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever been?

Los Angeles. Not due to the fact it's a dirt hole and a concrete jungle, but for the mentality here that we all share who come from far away with a dream. You can breathe the hard work and resilience...
If you could eat only 3 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Cabbage, protein powder, kabocha squash

What’s the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?

Traveling to the middle of nowhere in Russia to fly a mig-29 jet plane in a g-suit and take HIGH Gs like a boss! Or maybe when I swam with great white sharks last year.... I'm an adrenaline junkie. I think leaving Sweden and put everything a stake to make it here is the greatest courageous thing I've done combined with a cross national move from LA to Miami, knowing NOBODY there more or less and again, all on my own.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?

Never let fear hold me down.
