When did you first discover FiveFingers?
In 2014, I bought a pair for my first big solo travel adventure around US and Europe (lightweight but grippy!), and fell in love.
Favorite pair and why:
Honestly, I wear the Furoshiki boots most often! They’re perfect for the desert in the winter and perfect to slackline in. I wear the Alitza Loop most often when traveling, and honestly, they’re my “dress shoes”... LOL
What’s your passion:
Slacklining and Acro
How have FiveFingers changed your life (if they have!):
I definitely feel like my feet are stronger and more dexterous! It’s forced me to pay attention to how I’m walking, I used to supinate (walk on the outside of my feet) and when in FiveFingers, I can feel where I’m putting my weight. I think (but don’t know) that when I stopped supinating, a chronic pain in my sacrum lessened quite a bit.
What's the most popular question you get about FiveFingers?
“Are those comfortable?”
What would you like to see in FiveFingers' designs in the future?
I’d love to design a slackline-specific shoe with Vibram!
Name 3 people you most admire:
My mom, author Gregory David Roberts, and anyone who’s ever made a scary choice to follow their dreams.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
It’s two-part: Graduating with an engineering degree, and then deciding to go a totally different direction and not use my engineering degree.
What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever been?
It’s a tie between Yosemite National Park and right here in my home, Moab Utah.
If you could eat only 3 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?
Bread, Avocado, and Lemons (together)
What’s the most courageous thing you’ve ever done?
Decided to not get a job after college and travel the country with no money in a truck.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?
Say yes now, figure it out later.
What else should we know about you?
I guide adventures in Moab! Check out my website below. Also, if I’m home, I’m probably wearing a cat onesie and drinking way too much coffee.
