When did you first discover FiveFingers? 2007? Maybe earlier. I have pretty much worn only VFFs since then. No other shoes (except snowboard boots).

Favorite pair and why: The discontinued black Kangaroo Leather KSO Treks, because I can wear them with jeans or even a suit and tie and not draw attention to myself. They are also the most comfortable shoes ever made. (I bought 8 pair went they were disco’ed, and I am down to my last pair.) My second favorite pair are the discontinued white golf shoes. They make excellent general gym workout shoes (and attract a lot of attention because they look so cool).

What’s your passion: Helping others understand how they can reclaim excellent health by changing the way they eat, move, play and sleep.

How have FiveFingers changed your life (if they have!): Strengthened my feet substantially, altered my posture, reduced lower leg injuries, reduced lower back injuries, possibly even improved my sprint speed.

What's the most popular question you get about FiveFingers? Sadly, it’s, “What are those? I’ve never seen them before. “

What would you like to see in FiveFingers' designs in the future? More attractive (and subdued) leather casual and everyday-wear shoes; more substantial sports versions to take the place of cleats.

Name 3 people you most admire: Richard Branson, Sylvester Stallone, Stephen Colbert.

What accomplishment are you most proud of? Raising (with Carrie, my wife of 28 years) two of the most awesome human beings on the planet: Devyn and Kyle Sisson.

What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever been? The Big Sur coastline.

If you could eat only 3 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be? Lamb chops, broccoli and avocado.

What’s the most courageous thing you’ve ever done? Leave a well-paying job in my 40s - with a wife, two kids and no savings - to start my company Primal Nutrition.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received? If it were easy, everyone would be doing it.

What else should we know about you? I once held the world record for climbing a mile on the VersaClimber.
